UTM alumni, students, staff, faculty and community members are invited to a private screening of the new, award-winning documentary Last of the Right Whales.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring associate professor Christophe Richter, producer Sholeh Fabbri and alum Farheen Kadwa (HBSc '17 UTM, MEnvSc '20 UTSC).

North Atlantic right whales are dying faster than they can reproduce. With less than 350 remaining, these great whales rarely die of natural causes. Instead, they are run over by ships or suffer lethal injuries from fishing gear. If we don’t stop killing them, in 20 years they could be functionally extinct. Last of the Right Whales tells the story of a passionate group of people – a wildlife photographer, a marine biologist, a whale rescuer and a crab fisher – united in their cause to save the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale.

Watch the trailer here and come out to watch these magnificent creatures on the big screen.
